I thought I would start a blog. This is my first attempt so I guess I will give it my best shot. I am an Air Force Technical Sergeant with 18 years in and this is my second deployment to Afghanistan. Must say the second time is a bit more smooth than the first one. I was a mentor/advisor and now Im assigned to a PRT mission. I have gone outside the wire a few times and have taken many pictures. I am a Public Affairs Photographer from Moody Air Force Base Georgia. I take good photos, but my writing skills are limited...LOL.
It really hits home when you hear about senseless death in the news. We just got word about the Helo getting shot down, and it has all of us worried about the next time we get into a chopper. By convoy or chopper is the only way to get to where i am located but I can tell you I am in the mountains. It's a bit cooler up here than being on the desert floor. I like it here. There is a lot more green than I thought i would of seen here. I had a friend that got blown up and hurt in an IED explosion. He is being well cared for in some German hospital and I am thankful that he is okay. I sang his song he always sung at Karaoke and I didnt slaughter Bon Jovi's wanted dead or alive too bad. I took over as our DJ to head up Karaoke night at our MWR. I sing okay but we got some good singers here and some bad ones too. 3-4 hours is most I can take a week thank goodness it's only once a week hahaha.
We got a really good set up here. I got 2 room mates and we get along good. we all have our own space, meaning walls with a door that locks and its nice to relax at the end of the day and not have to look at anyone. We all usually get settled in and turn on our computers and watch our latest season buys from the Afghan shop who have all the latest movies and series on TV and in Theaters. I have a ton of books that I want to read, but I have to put them before my movies :)
Okay I have to get some work done today. I wish everyone well and if you come across my blog now or in the future feel free to comment. Drink lots of water :)
