A High Quality of Life
May 22, 2010
I enlisted in the U.S. Army in March of 1999 and it changed my quality of life in many ways. I served for nine years in the enlisted ranks from Private to Staff Sargeant promotable before gaining a direct select commission through Officer Candidate School in 2008. I began attending college classes not long after I reported to my first unit and recently completed my BA May 2010. I have served in support of OIF and OIF 2.5 during my career and continually been placed in position to achieve. My Army career resulted in meeting my wife and has allowed me to see places within the U.S. and overseas while on leave or serving my assignments that would never have been possible had I not enlisted. The most important aspect that I have enjoyed due to an Army career is a wonderful quality of life. It was not always easy but a bit of hard work and dedication has certainly paid off and now I am enjoying the benefits of good leadership and mentorship presented early in my career. I love the U.S. Army and thankful I made the decision to join a team. The concept of achieving has become a constant on a personal level, as well as, witnessing my Soldiers do the same.
Sincerely,
