Yesterday was the third day of building robots with our German counterparts at the University of Koblenz. We spent the first two days building and hardwiring our robot and joystick. Yesterday we were tasked with writing a program to upload to the robot that would make the robot sync with the joystick and move appropriately based on our joystick movements. This task presented many problems. We found that not only our robot, but other groups’ robots as well would lock in on one joystick command given and continuously repeat that command despite others given. Tonight I had the opportunity to attend the first night of the four-week Writing Workshop for Women Veteran’s that SWAN has introduced this summer. Kalima, the Community Development Director, and I have been anticipating it all week. Three ladies showed up from a local shelter that provides temporary shelter for women veterans. I cannot even begin to describe how much I learned tonight from these amazing, wise and STRONG women.
