We live through the same times we share together, one and all, in its diversity, and when times change, sometimes outdated structures do not as quickly, depending upon the roots. So therefore I believe that in posting this, it is possible that if someone has read this far already, that they take my hand to understand my perspective and I understand more of theirs, to troubleshoot and help with solutions for past or outdated zeitgeists, while combining future goals, and so together help each other in developing the outlook to keep America free and stronger in coming times. WHINSEC in the early Panama days took on the impossible: that of ensuring instantly...»

When I was younger I thought that every solider was a superhero. As I grew up and watched many of my friends lose their parents and family to the military I began to hate it. I swore that it was the worst thing ever invented. Every time I had to console a grieving friend my hatered grew stronger. My junior year of high school my cousin joined the Army. I cried for days when I found out. I was so scared that something was going to happen and we were going to lose him. Then when my other cousin announced that he planned on joining the Army also. My heart sank and my worries grew. My cousins are my life. They are some of my best friends. I still hated the military...»

I'm waiting on the moment to enlist in the United States Army I'm in the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps at my high school in West Virginia. I have many friends in the military one in particular is Travis Broyles. He is a great man and my roll model. I want to be in the military for two reasons. One is that I love this country and I will use all my might to protect it. Two is that I love my family, friends, and the ones who served for me and its time to give back. 2 years and 1 month from today I will be signing my life to the United States Army and I will be proud to do it.

I have a cousin Junior who was in the Army. He was such a bad boy and a rebel before leaving for Basic Training. Was getting into all sorts of trouble. When he came back from it, he was saying, Yes Mame and Yes Sir. Completely turned him and his life around. Thanks for turning our boys into men. He is a better person because he was in the Army. He'll tell ya that himself.

I'm 17 now but when I was 14 I made a horrible mistake and got a felony. And now my dream is to be a soldier for the us army. I have talked to one recruiter and he has not gotten back to me. What can I do to show I have learned and gotten better. I do community service 4 sports and 3 church groups not including church. Can this mistake really hold me back this much. Who would o be if I weren't ready to fight against it though. What else can u do?

Robert (Bob) Strenz, brother in law, served in Viet Nam and was one of those soldiers who was unable to talk about his experiences, even to his wife...my sister. As a high schooler, my daughter was asked to do an interview on someone for history class and Bob agreed to do this for her. Our eyes opened wide when reading about his experience...injured, witnessing loss of life of friends, his views on war, how horrible the circumstances were when he returned to the US. He spoke of being out in the "jungle" in 100 degree heat, waiting sometimes for 3 days til a chopper could evac to safety. Nights laying in wait and rats crawling on them. How...»

My name Lavonne Yates, and I have a Nephew in the Mariens. I know that is not army, but I support all branches of the service. He was over seas this past year, and we all very worried about him. Today he is safe back home. He still has some back flash issues but is coming arround very nicely. Our family is very proud of him and love him very much. He did lose several friends while over seas and I know that took a toll on him. But as I see it, no matter how long it is down here for us, its just milla seconds for them up there. So it will seem like no time has passed at all. Hoora!!!! Goes out to all you brave men and women in our forces, go strong and be...»
