choosing a job in the Army
May 8, 2010
I am most likely going to enlist into the Army, but I am having trouble picking a job. I was thinking combat engineer, but I dont know any and my recruiters don't know any either. So I would like to talk to a combat engineer before choosing a job so I learn more about it. Or if anyone else has a different job in the Army and would like to give me info about it I would greatly appreciate it. My recruiters are really busy and I am in college and play lacrosse for my college so I don't have much time so any help is appreciated.

Be very careful with what you choose because you will be stuck with that. If you are already attending college you can join the Guard/Reserve first to help pay for undergrad, then when you graduate you can try coming on active duty if that is what you want. If you go with the Guard/Reserve the job you choose will be determined by what units are around where you are going to school. Explore those units, talk to people that are there doing their drill on Sat/Sun and see what they would recommend.
If you are going to go active duty, and since you are in college you can decide whether to go ROTC or enlist. If you enlist you will have to leave school. If you go ROTC you can continue on and finish your degree.

Jul 23, 2010 12:43 AMif i were you i would go infantry, because it will give you the most opprotunity, you can go airbourne, then rangers, special forces, green berret and operate some of the military's best and latest weaponry while holding an everlasting bond with your fellow combat soldiers

May 7, 2011 11:14 PMHey man, I'll be honest, if it's something you want to do, do it. Quit smoking and get a gym membership. 1 HOUR of weights a day and 1 HOUR of running at low intensity will do WONDERS for you. I promise ya man, lift heavy.

Jun 9, 2011 10:03 AMUnfortunately, if you are 38 you are too old to enlist. Recently the Army changed it's policy that you have to be in Basic Training prior to your 35th birthday.

Aug 1, 2011 1:10 AMI am 11, and I know I'm young for thinking about this I asked my parents about using this site. But I want to enlist in the Military, I don't play Call of Duty as I think it disrespects our Military. I want to maybe be a Ranger, or a Marine. But do you think it's a good idea.
