Army Story

  • proud to be a platoon daddy

After 10 years of active duty, I've been around the world and back again. I wanted to stay in touch so I joined the reserves. Been a Platoon Sergeant for over 12 years, the best job. Went to Iraq in 03 with the 257th HET. After returning blood sugar test showed sugar levels high, took VA two years to find Pancreatic Cancer was the problem. The unit deployed to Afghanistan while the VA took excellent care of me. Now after 26 years serving, the Army wants me out but no-one knows how to do the paper work, a continuing story in the reserves. I love the army but the paperwork is BS. So my advice to all my bros. In arms, go to the medics and get it documented, make copies, don't try to "suck it up" Hooah.
