  During the week of 8Aug2011 the Recon Platoon learned about patrolling lanes, recon, and operation orders. On 11Aug2011, the Recon platoon departed for their FTX to Camp Miakonda.  From there we started our mission, including security halts, SLLS, and establishing our patrol base. During this, we recieved the oporder which changed the location of our mission.  Our platoon moved out to Oak Openings Park at 0100.  From there we set up our ORPs, and started our ambush at about 0615. Once our mission was completed we returned back to the University of Toledo.

  This FTX and the planning up to it, gave the platoon especially the MS3's a lot of new knowledge to prepare for LDAC. Some of the MS3's were placed in leadership positions giving them a lot of good experience.
