The Army's Benefits
November 9, 2010
I look at the Army not only as a job, but as a tool to achieve your goals. The Army is able to get you an education, teach you lifelong skills that apply everyday, and help you network with other people throughout the USA. This can later benfit you for when you retire or decide to get out of the Army. What other job can offer this opportunity? The Army has helped me pursue three degrees and has given me the discipline and confidence to take care of soldiers. I would of never have thought a job like this could offer so much. I have been in the US Army for over 8 years and have traveled all over the USA. If it wasn't for the Army, I would be stuck in college racking up student loans and would have never left the state of Iowa. There's not a whole lot here except for farming and I don't see myself doing that until I retire. Being able to go to different schools around the USA and learn different job trades has helped me become not only a more knowledegable person, but has helped me network with other people in case I do move to another location. Who knows when you might need a job in another state and a person you met along the way could help with a job position in that area. The Army is a great tool and I strongly believe that everything you put into the Army, you will recieve successful accomplishments. Do everything you can while you're in, and make the Army not only a job, but an adventure!
