Hitting the ground running!

April 20, 2011

It has been a very busy year so far! It has been four months since the beginning of the new year and I have been going crazy with all of the demands of my graduate school program and the preparations for attending three months of impending army training. I am about to be promoted to First Lieutenant any day now and I have been very busy packing up my apartment and moving things into storage so I can cut back on expenses and focus on my "army summer."

To begin with, I have a few days in Scottsdale Arizona in early May 2011 for Chaplains Annual Sustainment Training, Then there's the monthly battle assembly to attend, all while wrapping up my spring semester of seminary school. A week after school is out, I will head to Ft. Jackson SC for six weeks for the first two phases of Chaplain BOLC where I will get a refresher on common soldier tasks and begin to learn more of my vocation in a military setting.

When my stint at Ft. Jackson concludes, I will take a brief respite in San Antonio before venturing to Ft. Lewis WA for a 20 day practicum. During this practicum, I will provide spiritual support to Army ROTC cadets undergoing their advanced camp training. This is all very exciting and I'm looking forward to many new experiences and making many new friends in the army family.  Next year I will be graduating from Liberty University with my Mdiv and I will be an official army chaplain. Hooah!

Are you graduating May of 2012 from LBTS? Me too. I am having my Senior Chaplain interview this week in Richmond. I can use some pointers on the process and what should I expect.

I work in LUHR and teach online for SOR.

    Blessings
