As I sit with my wife who is also a combat veteran, we reminisce of the time before serving and how so many of our old friends are doing the same thing they were when we graduated HS. I enlisted two great Americans this week and are so excited to help the young people in my community take a huge step in growing up and moving on to the next part of their life. It reminds me of reporting to Germany and realizing that I had never cooked for myself or done my own laundry. 18 years of living in NM Germany was a eye opener and would never take it back, my wife talks about going to Korea and experiencing the different cultures and people. I have spent the last 15 years traveling and going to places that most New Mexicans will never get to see and experience. I know there is much more to see I plan on taking the time here on recruiting and soak in all the different people and cherish the friendships that I have and will make on this special duty.
