Hispanic Heritage Month in Washington, DC

October 26, 2011

Greetings!  I am glad to be back online to update everyone on the Army’s most recent event that took place in Washington, D.C.  The Army was able to coordinate an amazing reception and dinner at the Hyatt Regency.  The purpose of the dinner was to gather both military and civilian leaders and members of the local community to recognize the amazing contribution Hispanic soldiers make for our country.  The keynote speaker of the event was the Under Secretary of the Army, The Honorable Joseph Westphal.  Mr. Westphal had inspiring words of for the crowd of approximately one hundred attendees.  Also in attendance was Lt. Gen. Rhett Hernandez, commanding General of U.S. Army Cyber Command.  The event was a huge success and West Point was very happy to support Army Accessions in this mission.  Please keep following the blog as I will be heading to San Antonio, TX for the Hispanic Association of Colleges and University’s annual conference.  Army Strong! HOOAH!
