Supporting our Troops

In direct support to our soldiers fighting for our liberties and freedoms throughout the world, The United States Army Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps joined forces with the Wounded Warrior Project to pay a special tribute to those men and women on March 6, 2010 in Punta Gorda, Florida. Participating in the first Wounded Warrior Project Military Tattoo, the Corps honored all guests to a special performance.
The Wounded Warrior Tattoo brought military elements from as far away as Canada and as close as the Virginia Military Institute Ceremonial Band to commemorate injured servicemen and women. The performance concluded with The Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps playing Retreat and To The Colors while a lone piper from VMI played Taps.
“It was our greatest honor playing for these wounded warriors that surrendered so much to keep our freedoms alive today,” commented Staff Sergeant Scott Jamison, Snare Drum Instrumentalist.
