Good Evening Son: I have just stumbled onto the 157th site. Amazing, I served with the 157th from 1965 until 1986. Retired as E-9 and kind of lost track of the BDE.

I want to thank you for what you are doing. I fully understand how it can get boring, been there done that. My son is in the Army, 11 years as AB Ranger,8 years SF and now Special Ops. I am sorry to say we do not talk, his choice not mine.

Take care just thought I would say Thanks.

    Take care and God Bless

Been there, done that..doing my tour in Afghanistan it was pretty much all or nothing. We would be flat out crazy style and then back to base and bored with nothing to do. I did two tours, one in their winter and one in their summer and the winter was crazy cold and the summer was extra hot in the body armour. Take it easy over there and god speed you home to your loved ones. Remember IT IS ALL WORTH IT!

Prayers and positive thoughts for you as you go. I have an ex who was an officer out of Fort Lewis, then Fort Sill. Good people. (I also have one unmaried daughter....) Proud of you for fighting in what I consider an unjust war; brave to do so. May God's peace stay with you. Annie
