Happy President's Day! Here's to all the men who took upon themselves a far greater responsibility than most could handle, regardless of how we think they handled it. This weekend I went to the pocono mountains with my family and my boyfriend. On Saturday we wne tsnow tubing, which was a blast. There's nothing that says winter fun quite like rushing down a small ski slope in a float on your stomach. Today we went to an outlet mall, walked around in the cold, and picked up a...read more

So, I know its been forever since I was on here. Honestly, I only remembered about it, because I linked my IT305 website to my blog! Sidenote: I added a second major in Info Tech Systems. I really want to focus my studies on how cyber space changes the laws of war and international security. I'm thinking about applying for Truman scholarship; I would need to submit my application at the end of next semester. It is deferable until I am a captain, and then I could use it to get...read more

Sorry it's been so long since I've last updated. It's been busy here at West Point. yesterday we received 6 week grades (kicking butts and taking names, thanks for asking). I also made the Army Debate Team, so that has been consuming a lot of my time. At our first tournament ever, 2 weeks ago, my partner and I won the entire debate in the novice division. We argued ten debates-- about 2.5 hours each-- over the course of 3 days. It was tiring and a lot of fun! We have another...read more

So, some updates... This summer I did an internship with the Distict Court Judge in my township. I both followed him in court and worked in his law office. It was a great experience and got me really excited to begin my Internation Law major this semester. I went to the shore with my boyfriend, hung out with my dog, and got sinificantly bored. I am glad to be back at West Point for another year. Being back is really weird, because now that I am a yuk, not a plebe, I don't have to...read more

Today I was privileged to be a part of a candle lighting ceremony in honor of the brave men who fought for a safe haven for the Jewish people. the ceremony was held at the Jewish chapel and followed by a wreath laying ceremony at the USMA cemetary at the graves of Micky Marcus (a USMA grad who fouht for Israel) and his wife. We mingled with Israeli Army veterans at a lunch back up at the chapel. It was great getting to hear their perspective on current events and Army life (American and...read more

So the year is winding down. I have 2 weeks left of academic classes and then finals, which we call TEEs (term end examinations). I missed a week of school to go down to DC to do some medical tests I needed to have done concerning my summer activities. I will let you knpow what my summer looks like when it is more concrete. This Thursday is project's dad, which is when all the seniors defend there thesis and departments put out major class projects. My psychology class will be displaying...read more

This weekend I traveled with the army fencing team to nationals in Chicago. The tournament went reall well, with Army doing far better than it has done in recent years. We send one of our own into individuals, where fencers compete for personal honors, where he placed 7th. All 3 of the women's blades placed better than they have in over five years. It was a good competition. Even the 15hr busride there and the 15hr busride back were enjoyable. Then I got back to school. I found...read more

Before I left for Florida last weekend I had to do a make-ahead white glove room inspection, called a SAMI, an inspection that is required once per semester and was being done by my regiment that weekend. We passed. I would have to do a make-up in ranks inspection, though, where you get into your full dress over white pants under arms and have your uniform and drill rifle inspected. I did that Tuesday morning at 6am after a night of making sure my uniform was shiny and ironed and my rifle was...read more

This weekend the Jewish choir took our huge trip down to West Paml Beach, Florida. A great Jewish community down there paid to fly 25 members of the choir and our officer in charge, put us up with host families, and keep us well fed and entertained all weekend. We flew down Thursday afternoon and arrived late at night. After being served a traditional Jewish sandwich spread- not my thing, but it's a Jewish tradition to eat cold cuts at gatherings- we went back to our host families'...read more

I woke up this morning to rain. By the time I left my first period class that rain had turned into heavy snow. At that point three academic buildings and my barrakcs building lost power! Unfortunately, it was on in the gym in time for my next period combabtives class. However, today we got to spar for the first time, and that was a lot of fun. My partner and I definetely had the best match. The hectic part of my day came next: I forgot my head gear in the locker room, had to run back, forgot...read more
