Students from around Portland Oregon gather together for the United States Hispanic Leadership Conference at the Double Tree Hotel. Schools participating in the even include Ontario High School, Newberg High School, Linn-Field Community College, OSU, and Southern Oregon University. Featured Speaker is Mr. Michael Reyes opens comments at the event.

I HAVE BEEN DEPLOYED TO IRAQ TWICE (2004-2005 & 2005-2006) AND ONCE TO AFGHANISTAN (2008-2009). OVERSEAS I WAS STATIONED IN GERMANY (2001-2005) AND STATESIDE STATIONS INCLUDE FT. CARSON, COLORADO, FT. HOOD, TEXAS, FT. LEWIS, WASHINGTON, AND SALEM RECRUITING STATION OREGON. BEING IN THE ARMY HAS CERTAINLY WIDENED MY VIEWS, KNOWLEDGE, AND OPENED SEVERAL OPPURTUNITIES TO TRAVEL AND MAKE STRONG RELATIONSIPS I WOULDN'T HAVE OTHERWISE. TO ME THE ARMY IS WHAT YOU MAKE OF IT. HAVING A DAUGHTER MYSELF ALLOWED ME TO SHARE THOSE EXPERIENCES WITH HER WHILE ALSO PROVIDING HER THE BENEFITS (AND PERKS) THAT COMES FROM BEING A SOLDIER. I AM GLAD I JOINED WHEN I DID AND AM PROUD TO CALL MYSELF A SOLDIER.
