Family Vacation

July 9, 2009

The family and I took a vacation. We were going next summer but it looks like I will be deployed so we figured sooner rather than later was better. We spent a week up un Estes Park, Colorado. Absolutely wonderful. Toured all of the national park, took the ghost tour of the Stanley Hotel, went fishing, and because so much is easy access, we could get my daughters wheel-chair into allot more places that we first expected. My son reeled in a few fish and we had a fire in the fireplace most nights (hey, for Texans 40 degrees at night is cold). We went up on the tram from town and at the top they have this horde of chipmunks, they would eat peanuts right out of the kids hands, of course they sell peanuts at the top so once you have a bag, the chipmunks are all over you. I think the video of my wife is is great, but I don't think she agrees. All in all a great trip. The kids got to see snow for the first time in their lives so that was pretty cool. I hope you all enjoy the photos. I am working on getting the video onto the page!
