You just have to love the Army's' sense of urgency sometimes. I put in a promotion packet back in July of 2008 for a board in September of 2008. The results apparently came out on January 2nd (unknown to me). After much poking, prodding, e-mails and phone calls, another guy and I, who was in the same board finally got an answer. I found my orders promoting me to Major. I was stoked, they were dated 17 March 2009, cool, only 3 days old. But wait there's more. I was actually promoted on 2 January 2009, with an effective date of 2 January 2009! So now I am even more stoked!!! BACK PAY!! Yes, I was a Major when I went to Battle Assembly in Jan, Feb, Mar and when I went to Ft. McCoy for 2 weeks. Sweet deal there!! More Jeep parts!!

So in other news, I painted the house, looks great and it really needed it. My wife really wants a privacy fence so that is the next project. I owe everyone photos of my new and improved garage. New floor coating, work benches and paint there, had to get that done for my Jeep to come home too (even though it will probably be too tall to go in the garage. I have been hanging new interior doors in the house. Changing over from the old boring flat doors to some nice 6 panel ones. Got a great deal at Home Depot. They were only $19.95 each so a whole new look for the whole house $150 bucks.

Been running alot (finally) have another APFT during April drill. wouldn't ya know, right before my birthday and a new age bracket. Oh well, the one in October will be in the new bracket.
