Now I realize this is out of order but I felt I should go back to the first day of my trip to Portugal. We just arrived after a long flight and they had lost our baggage, but the show went on. I am lucky enough to be participating in the Foreign Academy Exchange Program (FAEP) for the second time. My first exchange was to Argentina in 2008. FAEP is a program that is COMPLETELY paid for by the Academy, which sends you to a foreign military academy, Portugal in my case. About Me:
After serving 2 years on active duty as a Fueler, I took the advice of my company Executive Officer and applied to West Point. This coming May I will be the first college graduate of my family in the United States. It has been a crazy ride from Colombia, where I was born, to West Point, where I have grown, I branched Aviation and will be heading to Alabama for flight school in July. The Academy has given me great opportunities to learn and grow as a future officer in many respects: militarily, socially, culturally, and intellectually. I have two younger siblings that live with my family in South Carolina. My hobbies include an addiction to salsa music, obsession for soccer, and love of traveling. My overall philosohpy in life is "Carpe Diem." I think it means seize the carpe...no don't worry, I know it means "seize the day." Well, that is pretty much me in a nutshell.
