Okay world, last update I gave you was my promotion in Dec of 2009. At the time that I got promoted I was nearly eight months pregnant with a baby boy and was counting down the days for him to make his grand entrance to the world. I was very ready to have the baby. I have to say that I was very nervous about the birth and extremely nervous about being a first time mom. I had reservations about being a single parent, but at age 29(my age) I figured I could deal with it. Yes I know that being...read more

Okay world I am still playing catch up and trying to catch you up on the last 10 months of my life. My last post mentioned the struggle to find housing off post so I will take it from there. I eventually found a place to live. I found a cute little sub division in Platte City MO, maybe 20 minutes away from Leavenworth across the Missouri border.   So I moved to Platte City, and was assigned to work in the PAC office for HHC USDB. I provided administrative support for Soldiers that worked in...read more

Okay World I owe you a continuation of the update that I last posted. After spending about 6 weeks in Charlotte , NC with my MOM I was glad to be making the 16 hour drive to Fort Leavenworth because she was really starting to get on my nerves, not to mention constantly seeing people from my childhood that have not done anything with their lives. I know that there is a recession and all but being unemployed is not an option in this economy. Me and My Sorority Sister Quiana just before leaving...read more

Okay World, I guess you are wondering what has been going on with me this week. I have to say that it has not been pretty. All the fried food, red meat, milk shakes and beer have caught up with me and now I have chronic acid reflux. I saw my Primary Care Provider at the local TMC and I was referred to the General Surgery at 121 Community Army Hospital in Seoul. I Barium studied was done and it was discovered that my acid reflux had gotten worse with possible acid damage to my throat and...read more

For those who think that WLC is fun, I am here to tell you that it is not, but I am no GI Jane either. I did not know that to expect going into the course. I knew that I was going to be in class the majority of the time and that the course was very structured as far as the time scheduling. At times I did think that I was in basic training again. I guess that is a...read more

My name is Ayan Mobley and I am a Specialist in the United States Army. If you can believe it I did four years in the Marine Corps. I will not say former Marine because once a Marine always a Marine. I joined the Army about a month after I graduated from college in June of 2006. Finishing school was one of my many accomplishment because of the fact that it took me longer to finish because of my deployment while on active duty with the United States Marine Corps( GI BILL is a wonderful...read more
