Update 3

April 23, 2010

Okay world I am still playing catch up and trying to catch you up on the last 10 months of my life. My last post mentioned the struggle to find housing off post so I will take it from there. I eventually found a place to live. I found a cute little sub division in Platte City MO, maybe 20 minutes away from Leavenworth across the Missouri border.

So I moved to Platte City, and was assigned to work in the PAC office for HHC USDB. I provided administrative support for Soldiers that worked in the United States Disciplinary Barracks which is the only maximum security military prison in the world. At the time I was the only 42A assigned to the PAC office. From what I was told, it had been a long time since they had someone who was actually a 42A( Human Resource) had been assigned to work in the PAC, as opposed to an MP sitting at the desk pretended to be a 42.

Working in the HHC USDB PAC office, very hormonal and pregnant was very different. It amazes me how Soldiers do not know how to take responsibility for their own career. It was crazy, that NCOs expected to be told when they need to have their own NCOER submitted for processing.

After being tormented working in the company PAC office, being the subject matter expert that no one listened to, I finally got a gig at the Army Correctional Brigade S1 which was just being stood up. The tempo and atmosphere in the office was a lot better. I no longer had senior non commissioned officers force me to fill out their leave forms.

Shortly after I moved to work in the Brigade S1, which was in November, I made cut off for E5. All that waiting and hard work paid off and my BAH would actually cover my rent. At the time that I was promoted, I was about 71/2 months pregnant. Although I was huge standing in formation for my promotion, and my feet were so swollen that I could no longer get my feet into my boots and was forced to wear tennis shoes, getting promoted felt really good. I believe that all promotions come from GOD and he thought it was time for me to get promoted. Doing the right thing does pay off, not to mention that with a baby on the way I could use the extra money. Well world until next time Be Very Very BLESSED
