Smooth transition to rockets, recoilless rifles, and mortars - Oh my!
June 24, 2011
Well it has definitely been a while since my last post, but in my defense things have definitely been picking up! My counter part [LT Sasaki] and I have traded positions, moving him into the FSO slot and myself into the Platoon Leader/FDO slot. The change is going well, and each of us is excited to work with new groups of Soldiers and see Artillery life from different perspectives. I'm just glad we both get to stay out here and not have to switch to different COPs!
We have steadily been receiving indirect attacks against COP Wilderness, and we have steadily been pumping artillery and mortars back in exchange. I'll definitely say that my guys are earning their pay as Artillerymen, we fire more HE rounds than anybody else I know! The other day a mortar hit our internet dish. Talk about bad luck, but its back up and running now so no complaints. We even had some reporters out here who posted a story online about us, definitely check it out:

Other than that life is good. Just counting down the days until I get to visit my wife and family back in Texas. Miss you guys!
Brad
