  • Training with the ROK cadets

    I got the chance about a week ago to train along side the ROK ROTC cadets at their headquarters. There i participated in one of their pt sessions, at first it was pretty normal. Then they broke out these 22lb sand bags that fellow cadets and I had to run across the drill field with as apart of a relay race.   • Visiting the task force smith battle sight

    Upon reaching the sight i saw this big statue that had flags from each of the coalition nations that fought with the south during the Korean War. It commemorated a battle that turned into one of the Army's most embarasing moments. The battalion sized force was sent from occupation duty in Japan strait to the front lines, their objective was to hold a blocking position along the Seoul to Pusan road in order to slow the NK army's advance.   • Trip o the dmz

    My trip to the dmz is very eye opening for me. I have never seen such security and defensive positions dividing two countries. When I looked into north korea it it looked more like a barin planet than a country. At the same time it serves as a reminder of why US forces are neede here, no human beings should have to live in such a harsh conditions and controlled sosiety as exists in the North.
