What you will learn as a PA Soldier:

November 19, 2010

Training is conducted at Fort Meade, MD at the Defense Information School (DINFOS) http://www.dinfos.osd.mil/ .

You can go to accademics and download the overview of the course work for "Basic Public Affairs Specialist Course" or "Combat Correspondence Course-60"

A decent area to read about what Public Affairs does for the Army can be found in a Army publication called "How the Army Runs." The chapter 21 PUBLIC AFFIAIRS.

The publication can be found at http://www.carlisle.army.mil/usawc/dclm/htar2008.pdf

page 459.

It may be a little dry for some people's taste, but it spells out the roles and responcibilities of Army PA pretty well

DINFOS was a great school to attend. Paul Page from ABC Sports and I are both alums and even addressed a grad class there one year when we were both in Indy for the 500. I'm traveling now for WLS Radio Chicago and headed for a week with the 101st Airborne. Tough unit, to be sure, but in my bag I have the "DINFOS TRAINED KILLER" tee shirt. Don't mess with the information dudes! It's a great MOS and I recommend it highly.
