I had the chance to talk to my beautiful boy Ezra and his awesome mommy yesterday! She handed him the phone and he told me hi over and over. I know he heard me say Hi because his Hi's became more emphatic afterwards!! good little boy! me tickling Ezra in January '10. I got to the Sopranos USO event a little late and there was no more room in the auditorium. I stayed outside by the door to see if I could get some photos from there. Then, Tony and Paulie came in the front door right by me. Paulie shook my hand and gave me a big bear hug. Tony was looking around and then came over and shook my hand. I just published a news article today about our trip to the Afghanistan / Pakistan border. Link It really is a beautiful country there. We traveled to Torkham Gate, the main border crossing for all trucks and goods transiting from Pakistan. U.S. military and NATO forces have hundreds of trucks a day transiting there. Camp Marmal, a base camp near Mazar-e Sharif was truly a beautiful location with a wonderful Star Wars bar like quality to the atmosphere. Soldiers from Germany, Hungary, Sweden, Croatia, Norway, and even Latvia are stationed at the northern Afghanistan base camp. A Hungarian 1st Lieutenant was our POC at the camp and did a great job.
