Caspian Sea

February 26, 2010

Lots going on here and weather is getting a bit better. Just got done a boxing and crossfit workout. There are some heavy bags outside, also pull-up bars and arm walk bars. Last night, I almost ran a sub-13 minute 2 mile run which is very good for me. Once, I get under 13, I am in really good shape.

Fascinating some of the routes that cargo goes through to get to Afghanistan. Some is shipped by vessel to the Middle Ease and then flown in. Some is sent through Russia, some through the Black Sea and Caspian Sea by ferry. Because the roads are so bad, some supplies are dropped out of pallets on Air Force cargo planes. Kuwait is a major logistics hub here as it is the most heavily used seaport and air base.

I took some photos of our camp here and hopefully will be able to upload them with captions when I get to my laptop.
