Well I have not posted in a while but wanted to get back in the grove after R&R. Leave was great and really enjoyed some good times with my family and friends. We went to Gattlinburg, TN and had a great time in that area, and I would recomend that everyone go down or up to the Smoky Mountains at least once in their life, just don't go on July 4th like we did. The secret power of Soldiers during Deployment-SUPERHERO'S

Ok well there is a significant change of a person during his deployment overseas, and it is for the good of the person and unit. When you first arrive overseas, start working, and get into the grind of things a person changes to a new person, you turn into a superhero. A person can do PT in the morning, and work his butt off during that PT session, then turn and go out for a Patrol or do a mission that will carry him up a mountain or around the country fighting the enemy. Well I have had a different job since I have been in Afghanistan, I have been the Task Force Commanders Personnel Security Officer and it has been a pretty good job so far. I have been flying around in a UH-60 everywhere, and it has been diffrent. All other time's I have been overseas I have been in a Combat Outpost running missions on foot or by wheeled vehicle. Ok going to be Deployed very soon, this will be my 4th time overseas. I am ready for this to start so it can end just as fast. And for all the Soldiers that are overseas right now, keep your head up and keep pushing the flag forward!! I WILL SEE YOU SOON!

Most don't realize this, but the argument about the uniforms has been going on for a while now, can anybody think of how many times we have changed battle uniforms since the Armys creation? It has been many. My opinion is, I belive that we need to think of our future. Where are we most likely to be fighting or providing assistance in the coming years? Well let me tell you this is a first for me, blogging....really, well I think this will be a good time to spread some good stories. About Me: Were do I start, I am a 29 year old SSG in the Army. Joined the Army in 1999 at the age of 18, and joined the Infantry and enjoyed every minute that I have served. I have been to Kosovo, Iraq, Afganistan, and many other countries that we were not fighting the bad guys, very fun. I am a very happy married man to my wife of 5 years, and 3 wonderful kids. I am about to deploy again to Afganistan and I am ready for this next challenge. I am a lover of the outdoors, fishing, and golf are my 2 fav things to do, but just being out there is great (unless it is cold, some one else can have that).
