Soldier Blog Post

Richmond Virginia

May 1, 2011

Hey everyone, I had a great time in Richmond all week, ending with the NASCAR race on Saturday. I spent the majority of the week attending High School events with the Ryan Newman's showcar that is sponsored by the Army. Having the opportunity to meet alot of students at the local High Schools was a great privilege for me. I was able to conduct some physical training and drill and ceremony with a couple of the schools JROTC programs which is always a great time. This is a great program and I applaud each and every one of the Instructor's and members of the program for their outstanding efforts to be role models for others to look up to and emulate.

The Strength and Action Zone was extremely busy Saturday at the NASCAR Event. I again had the opportunity to meet alot of people from the Richmond area, and speak to them about my Army Story and the Army training that Soldiers go through today. Ryan Newman came into the zone on Saturday and spoke to a very large group of fans that were excited to see him and did some Q&A . Hands down I couldn't have had a better week and all the people I met where very welcoming and supportive of our Army.
