USAMU Looking to Hire Wounded Warriors

May 18, 2010

Please allow me to introduce myself, my name is LTC Dan Hodne, the Commander of the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit, a uniquely distinctive Unit with a mission unlike any other in the entire Army and Department of Defense. We are a strategic enabler to the Accessions Force and offer tremendous capabilities to support the Warfighter as well. The USAMU enhances the Army's recruiting effort, raises the standard of the Army's marksmanship proficiency, and supports the Army's small-arms research and development initiatives in order to raise the Army's overall combat readiness.

The USAMU showcases the best of Army Soldier skills through competition and marksmanship clinics that generate positive Army impressions nation-wide. We connect to America's people in a very unique way. We train thousands of Soldiers per year on the fundamentals of marksmanship and how to consistently shoot effectively at long and short range. Finally, we lead the Army's small-arms research and development. The Army's sniper systems (M21 & M24) were developed and built by the USAMU, along with the very capable M4 SDMR, and 77-grain 5.56 mm ammunition just to name a few.

The USAMU is looking to hire Army Wounded Warriors to showcase the Army as Paralympic shooters, serve as marksmanship instructors, and exhibit the notion of "Army Strong."  Spaces are limited and your ability to completely master the training requirements will be required.   The USAMU is comprised of the absolute best shooters, marksmanship instructors, and gunsmiths in the world.  The Army expects it.  If you would like to be a part of the unique history of the "Home of Champions," play a vital role in raising the Army's combat readiness, and showcase the Army as an Army Ambassador, the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit may be right place for you.
