Steve Harvey Mentoring Weekend in NYC

October 12, 2011

The event was like the movie Inception. It appeared that the event planted an idea that evolved into a thirst for knowledge to become a man. To become a successful man! It provided an exposure to a congregation of simple men, who have similar backgrounds to the participants, but have become successful in the eyes of the world. The event showed the kids what a respectable, successful and honorable man should be like.  The kids appeared to want to become a better person, a better citizen and a better man. The event was full of opportunities to tell, to show, to learn and to share among the participants in order to transfer a boy into a man!

Thank you Major Bush and the rest of the soldiers for volunteering your time to "TRANSFORM" the lives of these young men. My son Dayne was a participant in the NY mentoring weekend and it was a TRUE GIFT and an amazing experience and opportunity for him and all of the young men. We were humbled by the generosity of Mr. Steve Harvey and all the mentors to take time out to enrich the foundation of these young warriors as they prepare for the next level of "MANHOOD". It was a lesson and memory they will carry with them forever.

I want to thank all the soldiers for volunteering your time to mentor the and inspire these young men. My son Anthony Acevedo had the priviledge to be one of the participants of this amazing weekend. He learned a lot about himself, and was able to hear stories of strong successful men in many different fields. I am truly grateful to all that the mentors that dedicated their time, and shared their experiences.

This was such a wonderful experience for my son. Words cannot express my gratitude for Steve Harvey and all of the volunteers who worked diligently to make sure my son had a "life changing" experience. My son continues to be impacted by the mentoring weekend and I continue to see changes in his life. Thank you, thank you and thank you again. What a wonderful opportunity for a young man who is trying to find his way. God is so good!

I have a nephew that is 14 years of age. Right now, he is headed in the wrong path and I am very worried about him.......He is living with his mother and has no father figure right now.......I would love to sign him up for this opportunity...I listen to your show Steve every morning and I am in desperate need of help....he is home schooled at the present because of recent problems in school. This would diffinitely be a positive experience that would probably help him. I woud love to enter a success story regarding my nephew....Thank You

    Sebrina
