First Blog

May 23, 2010

This is my first blog believe it or not. In this world of electronic forums that promote dialogue, the exchange information, lessons learned, TTPs, etc...I must take the plundge and emerse myself into this new realm.  Throughout my career I have used the standard email, AAR, and CALL  journal for exchanges of ideas and knowledge. As a field grade I must understand how important and effective blogging is a tool to be utilized as a mediam.  Blogging is a requirement here at the CGSC ILE course as part of a  STRATCOM development program, not only is it a requirement but blogging is encouraged throughout the school from staff, students, and CG/DCG.  The encouragement of blogging spurs a flow of ideas and points of view at the CAC and CGSC that may be heard or viewed.  This blog page is another vehicle that verifies the acceptance of blogging as it grows and is encouragement at the Army level.  The Army blogosphere is and will allow senior leaders a way to receive views, opinions, and experiencs from Soldiers, NCOs, Officers, Spouses, and civilians that might otherwise be lost.  Blogging is an important  tool which I plan utilize and encourage others to do so.

    Jeff:

I'm in the same boat. This is my first blog as well. I agree that I need to become better versed on effectively using all the electronic tools to get out the message. I'm not so sure that I like the requirement that we fully identify ourselves because I think that it cuts down on the free flow of information and ideas. This is especially true if you are commenting on a sensitive issue. That is why I am satisfying this requirement by responding to your post. Best of luck in the blogosphere.
