Chillin with good friends at Weber Shandwick

October 28, 2010

Minneapolis, MN

27OCT: So if you have already may have read, recently I have been fortunate enough to work with one of the Army’s partners that help with our Social Media, Weber Shandwick. I got to meet this amazing team in Las Vegas, Nevada a few weeks ago when I attended the Blog World 2010 Expo. The team that we worked with operates out of Minneapolis and since I was in town so I had to follow up and meet the rest of the team. I arrived in the afternoon and got to meet everyone that helps the Army make sense of their Social Media presence. I got to see my good friends Dougie Smooth, Angie, Missy and a few others that helped make our visit to Blog World so successful. My trip was mostly focused around business. See Weber Shandwick also is responsible for the armystrongstories.com website. Well to make a long story short some of the other Drill Sergeants and I noticed a few things we thought could be changed to make the site easier to navigate around. So I requested that I come down to the office and meet with the developers to provide a little feedback. They were more than happy to have me come and share the ideas that the other DS and I had. I worked with Dougie Smooth and Kurt Stafki on this issue and we did a little brainstorming session. I think that we had a very productive afternoon and hopefully they will be able to take some of the feedback and make a few changes that will help out the bloggers and our audience. One of the feedback points that I got from Dougie Smooth and Kurt was that the Weber Shandwick team was not receiving that much feedback about armystrongstories.com. So I was thinking of trying to use our own website to reach out to my fellow bloggers and encourage everyone to send their ideas and comments back to the development team. Dougie, Kurt and the entire Weber team are really interested and eager to hear feedback from our blogging community. If you have any ideas or suggestions go to the “Contact Us” link on the armystrongstories.com homepage and send them your thoughts. They need our help to make our website easier for us and our viewers.

Again to the entire Weber Shandwick team – Thank you all for your hard work in providing the medium for soldiers past, present and future to tell their story and helping America connect to soldiers serving stateside and abroad.
