New Richmond Tigers. New Richmond, WI

October 27, 2010

26OCT: Today I got the privilege to work with SFC Pollack from the Hudson, WI recruiting company and we were on schedule to visit New Richmond, WI Tigers. Our plan was to assist the Physical Education faculty members and conduct Army Physical Readiness Training with the students. The school hosts near 900 students and we got to interact with about 150 of the students. I conducted six physical education classes before the day was out.

SFC Pollack and I received a very warm welcome from Renee Kaczmarski or Kaz for short. She was our primary contact and the physical education teacher we got to work with. Each class we had was a little worried that a US Army Drill Sergeant was there to take over for physical ed classes for the day. I kept it professional and we started off all of our classes with an introduction of the students then got into the preparation drill. We covered all kinds of different exercises ranging from 4 for the Core, Hip Stability Drill and CDs 1 and 2. After lunch we had a slight change of pace. I got to speak to a health class about Army leadership. The students seemed to respond more to my personal experience as a leader rather than the Army’s leadership philosophy. Then I closed out the day with the final two periods with some more physical fitness. Overall I had a great day with the New Richmond Tigers. They students enjoyed the change of pace and the faculty liked the variety the Army had brought to the school. Thank you, Tigers for having me at your school.
