So many kids, teenagers, and adults headed back to school this week and I for one am incredibly jealous. Why? If you haven't caught on yet, I would spend the rest of my life at university if I could. I love learning! But here's the thing, I'm not really learning anymore, at least not in the way I wish I were. Going through business school, it was pounded into my brain that the world is my oyster. I can do anything I want. Obviously this was...read more

It's my 25th birthday today. To be honest, at first I was rather bummed. I woke up at 0430 to get ready for my civilian job, drove to Conroe, crutched my way up the stairs, and have been sitting in my office ever since. Nothing special. Nothing great. Just another day. Then I realized how blessed I am to have such wonderful parents, family, friends, and my incredible husband. When I was camping on the beach for my 23rd birthday, I made a wish that I...read more

I like to think I'm rather fit and in shape. I love nothing more than a long run and got to the point recently where I was running 6+ miles an afternoon. I even signed up for my first triathlon and was so excited about it... Now I am on crutches compliments of the Army. You know that whole "new PT test" thing...yeah, it gave me a busted left ankle and two new best friends known as Crutch 1 and Crutch 2. Thanks, Army, for putting me on...read more

While watching The Bachelorette last night (don't judge me, you know you were too), my viewing was interrupted by this guy: http://www.google.com/imgres?q=president+obama&hl=en&sa=X&rls=com.microsoft:en-US&biw=1680&bih=853&tbm=isch&tbnid=XJT-wfqE0Q-I3M:&imgrefurl=http://igossip.com/gossip/President_Obama_Wins_Nobel_Peace_Prize_Dvorak_Uncensored_General_Barack_Obama/1618657&docid=nJPcZcWdJh6idM&w=468&h=558&ei=la0uToiYIcT30gHfgrHDAQ&zoom=1...read more

We all have our own opinions; however, I like this guy. Here's why: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/43659504/ns/us_news-life/ When was the last time mental health was really, I mean really addressed at your unit or by your command? *Article brought to my attention by my awesome husband, he gets the credit.*

Seeing as yesterday was Mother's Day, I'd like to take the opportunity to say thank you to my wonderful mom. My mom... Was incredibly strict when I was growing up but I am the better for it. Always made me do my homework first thing from returning home from school. Quizzed me on my spelling words daily. Washed my mouth out with soap when I said no. Had her patience tried on more than one occasion when I refused to sit still in her lap as she tried to braid my...read more

During my little jaunt to England and Ireland, I convinced my husband that I needed to go to France...again. I had no idea what I wanted to do in France because he told me going to Paris was not an option. Then, because Mark is so clever, he suggested taking me to Normandy. Brilliant! We were in Dover, England for the day so we hopped aboard the Chunnel and after a 30 minute train ride, found ourselves in Calais, France. We drove the rest of the evening and part...read more

Sometimes we all need a break and the chance to unwind... And try new things... So Army land, I'm off on a much needed adventure. This time it's to the Emerald Isle and the UK for a couple weeks of tromping around castles, drinking at a pub...or two...or ten, touring Irish whiskey distilliries, catching a game of football in Liverpool, who knows what else! Off to London Town I go! Cheer-i-o!

I had the APFT this past weekend. I did more push-ups and sit-ups than I've ever done before. 55 push-ups! 94 sit-ups! That's how I roll. My husband is proud to have a wife whose pecs hurt.
