Continuing Education in the Dental Corps
October 7, 2009
In the Dental Corps you are funded to attend 1 week of continuing education (CE) a year. If you are a general dentist and have not specialized the Army offers 5-7 week-long short courses in a variety of subjects that you can choose from and attend. If you have specialized, then your options also include the American Dental Association (ADA) annual meeting, or the annual convention for your specialty. Additionally you can be given up to 5 days (not funded by the Army, but they will not charge you vacation time) to attend other CE events of your choosing.
This year the ADA convention was in Honolulu. My wife and I had lived here when I was doing my specialty training with the Army, and it was great to be back after 5 years.
