Living conditions

March 13, 2011 | Lieutenant Colonel Kendall Mower

Have you ever wondered what the living conditions are like while deployed?  The truth is it can vary greatly by location, whether you are coming or going, and your rank.  Here are some examples.

You have your transient housing for people coming and going.

You have your CHUs (Containerized Housing Units) that sleep up to 3 Soldiers (depending on rank).

Existing housing previously built by the Iraqi's

Also some smaller single rooms

The bathrooms also vary.  The ever popular porta-potty

The "flushing" bathrooms

One of the nicer versions of showers.

So that's a little taste of our everyday life.  Makes you jealous doesn't it?
