DS, Techies, and Adam Carolla in Vegas!

October 18, 2010

What a weekend in Las Vegas!!! When I joined the Army in 2000 I never would have imagined that an opportunity like this would have existed for me!  This past weekend DS Short and myself worked at the blogworld convention in Las Vegas.

I was pretty intimidated going in because I knew it wasn't the type of crowd I was used to engaging and attempting to get to do physical challenges.  It didn't take long before my fears were put to rest by watching all these "geeks" knock out pushup and pullups.  I use the term geek loosely, because I met a lot of amazing people doing great things in social media.  So many of the vendors and attendees were impressed the Army has a blog site where Soldiers can put out their unfiltered stories about what serving is like.

DS Short worked his magic and we had the honor of meeting Adam Carolla.  Some people may know him from The Man Show, but i remember watching him on MTV Loveline when i was in about 8th grade.  He was very nice and engaging, it was definitely an experience.

It was a long hard weekend that was also fun-filled.  Our hosts for the even was the Weber-Shandwick crew.  They were amazing all weekend.  We definitely had a great time.  Now i'm in indianapolis at the future farmers of america convention.   Hoping to meet more great people and enjoy this amazing fall weather!
