Warrior Forge 2010

October 11, 2010

I went  to LDAC in 4th Reg. The Weather, for the most part was great and the training areas afford Cadets a chance to see Mt. Rainer peeking through the clouds.

My experience with both SSTX and PTRL was great. I enjoyed the challenges that faced Cadets as leaders. The organization of the evaluators and the OPFOR was very well coordinated. I feel as if the lane evalutors are professionals and take their job seriously.

I feel as if my pre-LDAC training back at the university was suffcient, however it lead to me becoming slightly over confident. The first event that made me realize this was Lan. Nav. during day Lan Nav I became misoriented with road intersections and ened the course with 40min left on the clock and scoring 7/8 points.

After that I came to terms that maybe I was wasn't as overprepared as I had thought earlier. The rest of the events came as no suprise and the standards at every event were made very clear. All the Cadre I interacted with at Warrior Forge were helpful and professional. The only cavet to this is the 2LT Cadre who were not as well versed in leadership as senior officers and NCOs.
