So for the next couple of days I will be supporting the Fort Lauderdale Recruiting Company in sunny Fort Lauderdale, FL, and today I headed out to Margate, FL to support some future Soldier training at the Margate Recruiting Station.

SFC Rodriguez and the rest of his recruiting station, along with some of the other recruiting stations in the area are some of the most compassionate Non-commissioned Officers that I have met.  They take their time to make sure that these future Soldiers are ready and prepared for Basic Combat Training.  I have been in the DSEP program for the past few months and I get to see first hand the other side of the coin.  I must say that I am impressed of what I have seen so far.  

I had the opportunity to conduct some DnC and physical training to 24 highly motivated future Soldiers.  Some did not know that I was there for that sole purpose.  Afterwards, I answered questions about Basic Combat Training.  I also told them that us, the Drill Sergeants, are there to help them succeed and to provide them the survival skills that they need to survive in combat.  I gave them a little taste of BCT.

So they thought the Preparation Drill was pretty easy, but it is not that easy, ten push ups, Drill Sergeant style, half right face, front lean and rest position, MOVE!!!
