Future Soldier visits
April 20, 2011
Hello again, army strong stories. I have been in the Drill Sergeant Exhibitor Program since Feb and I'm really enjoying the program. It gives a better insight on how hard our brothers and sisters in the recruiting field have to work. I now have a better understanding and respect for them and their mission. I truly enjoy interacting with the future soldiers. Either thru physical training with them or just a symposium going over whatever questions the family members or soldiers may have prior to them shipping off to basic. Thru this program the soldiers and family members get the most up to date information from Drill Sergeants on basic training. It really has a great impact on them. I had a mother come to one discussion session and she was upset that her baby was leaving for the Army. By the end of the meeting, that was conducted by DS Achitson and myself, she had a better understanding of what to expect and look forward to. She thanked us with teary eyes and said thank you for what we do. I have to commend all the future soldiers for joining during a time of war and good luck in your Army endeavors.
