2010 AAC Senior Leaders Conference

September 19, 2010

Had an awesome time @ the 2010 AAC Senior Leaders Conference in New Orleans, LA .  It was great meeting new/interesting people.  Made alot of new friends and seen different places.

The Main Theme about the Conference was "Telling the Army Story".  Too many times when I watch/listen to the news about the US Army, 9 out of 10 times its a negitive story, because negitive stories sells & gets ratings.  This conference was about getting all the good stories that happen on a daily basis out into Social Networks.  One of the new ways is through www.armystrongstories.com.  This website is for Soldiers, Family members, and so forth to go online & tell their Army Story.   Tell the real deal about the US Army.

On 14SEP10 we were @ the National WWII Museum. Conducted our Social Media Table setup by discussing the different ways I used FaceBook to tell my Army Story and reach new people.  We then watched "Beyond All Boundries" (4-D Experience - 120ft wide screen) at The National World War II Museum in New Orleans & had an awesome dinner.  If you have never been to The National World War II Museum in New Orleans, I highly recommend it.

On 15SEP10, the Conference began by many great speakers discussing about different issues, "Story Telling Frameworks" & "My Army Story".   I took alot of notes of the great info/ideas that was being presented. Had dinner on Bourbon Street @ the Bourbon Seafood House.  The food was excellent.  It is a completly different world there. If you have never been, you need to go.

On 16SEP10,  had an awesome day. There was many Discussion Panels on "How to Tell Their Army Story" - "Journalist & Parents.   I was on a Discussion Panel for "Connecting the Army Story in Our Communities".  I spoke about my US Army Friend/Fan Page. Explained how awesome my Friends/Fans are & how they "Suggest to Friends" my US Army FAN Page to all their Family/Friends.  Had dinner @ The Butche Shopr.  I had the Cochon Muffaletta.   Never heard of it or ever had one so I had to try it.  It was unbelievable delicious.  Went back to Bourbon Street & had a blast.

To see my photos from this trip become a FAN of my US Army FaceBook Page:

Overall, I really enjoyed myself & learnt alot.  It was so amazing to see how far techology has come & where it is going to tell the US Army Soldier Personal Story.

This week I am on vacation, then off to Miami, FL for Quarterly Training Briefings (QTB).

take care & have a Great week.   :)
