About Me: enlisted at 17 regular army, basic @ ft.dix,ait @ ft.rucker,11mos 19dys in rvn, then ft.bragg, also ft.devens.
took 3mos early out for 1yr mass. arng, went over to irr.
then went naval reserve, so. weymouth, naval air station for 3yrs 3mos.
was invited to come back to mass. arng to attend mass.mil.academy @ camp curtis-guild this fell through because my application and tests were lost by bn. at this time an issue arose where myself and another gaurdsman were harrassed by members of the unit, for having a prayer rug and a quran, our lockers were ransacked my new bdu's were stolen, also all my copies of my military records.
i asked to go back in the irr, while i moved to the state of maine. i found a reserve unit in rochester nh. was accepted in that unit but found out that i had not been transferred to the irr as requested but actually reduced in rank to pvt2. well this did not go well for me in this unit but as the ua worked on finding out what happened with my irr request i set my mind to take all the dirty assignments and drive on, eventually i earned the respect of those soldiers and down range this had become my military home.now because i met a cross section of americans in my lifetime i like pres.jefferson was in possession of a quran, with other cultural and religious books(which by now i was careful to keep to myself).
this unit was deactivated and i was sent up to a reserve unit in auburn, maine as this was a transportation unit i had a learning curve ahead of me, but drove around the usa(great time)with this unit on various missions, finally achieved sgt.also was sent to eoa trng at assumtion college.
had to go irr as family issues required my full attention.
decembre 2005 i was activated and sent to camp mccrady(part of ft.jackson sc)there myself and many other irr's trained and assisted with training sailors on battle drills, land nav etc. we also cleaned thier barracks and other worthy irr support duties, then to ft.leonardwood for more training more work details whatever could be found for those "major irr pains".
my story?i am army stong numb to insults and an amazement to civilians who can't take the pressure but not having a chain of cmnd or even any contact with a local reserve unit is very wierd. like what happened to musters with a nearby reserve unit.i'm told that i must work through hrc but often times they just don't respond or give any needed guidence........
