How did I get here??

October 20, 2010

Well...thought I would have posted a LOT sooner...funny how things sometimes just don't work out how you planned.

I was about to tell a bit about me and how my career "evolved" to where I am now...I never could have imagined that I would be, at the age of 40, a recruiter, of healthcare professionals, in Nashville. Nor could I have imagined when my son was born that he would want to be an Army helicopter pilot! It's amazing how a person's perspective changes with time.

When I say my career evolved, it really did. I had planned on being a cop...growing up that was what I wanted more than anything. But there were a lot of other things that I enjoyed as well...medicine and the military in particular. I never dreamed I'd be able to carve a career out of all 3! I started in 1989, a year out of highschool, enlisting as a 19D, cavalry scout. I honestly was enamored of the laser-video-disk thingy in the recruiter's office showing scouts zipping down out of the back of a C-130 on dirtbikes and dune buggies as the plane barely slowed and took off again. Kinda funny now that I think of it...never have been on either a dune buggy or dirt bike...

Stay tuned...
