Welcome everyone to the 2010 Essence Music Festival! The weather was a bit of a challenge this week with the tropical storm brewing in the Gulf of Mexico, but nothing is standing in the way of this wonderful and inspirational weekend. The interactive and exhibit area is by far one of the best exhibits the Army has presented. I wanted to take full advantage of the opportunity to showcase this incredible and enriching event and tell how the Army is playing a major role...read more

First off, the Army represented with a strong diverse population of Soldiers, NCOs and Officers. This event was one of the strongest networking and engaging events I have ever attended. The countless Army Soldiers and Civilians we had in support of this event is the reason why the Army was such a big hit! A lot of people lives have been...read more

What an event! So far Day 1 and Day 2 of the Essence Music Festival was nothing short of stellar. The entertainers, exhibits, but most of all the people are what makes this event what it is. John Legend, Robin Thicke, Neyo, Beyonce were all big hits but the surprise came last night with Charlie Wilson. He really put on a show and had the Superdome crowd loving every minute of it. You can tell when walking around the convention center that the Army message is starting to resonate throughout the...read more
