Welcome everyone to the 2010 Essence Music Festival!  The weather was a bit of a challenge this week with the tropical storm brewing in the Gulf of Mexico, but nothing is standing in the way of this wonderful and inspirational weekend.  The interactive and exhibit area is by far one of the best exhibits the Army has presented.

I wanted to take full advantage of the opportunity to showcase this incredible and enriching event and tell how the Army is playing a major role in Essence. 

Much like last year, the US Army showcases all their career opportunities, as well as showing certain on stage exhibitions such as the "Grill" Sergeant, flight simulator, and tons of free give-aways.  We are even raffling off two IPOD Nano's per day.  This is a huge event for all, and the Army is proud to be a corporate sponsor and supporter of Essence.  

Now, for last nights concerts grades

Raphael Saadiq- A (Great showing...alot of Tony, Toni, Tone' hits...was an excellent warm-up to get everyone in the groove)

Charlie Wilson- A+ (for the 2nd consecutive year, Uncle Charlie ripped it up last night...)

Janet Jackson- B+ (Good show but once you see Uncle Charlie tear it up live...it's hard to come behind with a lip-synching performance...her show was awesome though)

About to head into day 2, and can't wait to see how it goes...stay tuned!!!!
