Today marked the first day of 'Texas Week' on South Padre Island and we must have had 20,000 plus students pass through our booth. We continue to award three Amazon Kindle's daily to anyone that competes in the Warrior Challenge. We also conduct a random drawing daily to give out a Kindle. When promoting the drawing onsite we hear three common responses. 1. "Where do I sign up?" 2. "What's a Kindle?" 3....read more

The transition to Texas Week officially started this afternoon for the Spring Break Warrior Challenge. The team nearly doubled the amount of student contact thus far in the operation in a single day. Simply Amazing!! The team was also fortunate enough to meet two former cast members from MTV's The Real World. In the pictures below Syrus (Red Shirt) was on Real World Boston, and Bronne (Green Shirt) was on Real World Cancun.

Spring Break Warrior Challenge officially kicked off yesterday on South Padre Island. The recruiting team projected the Army message to countless students in attendance where they were afforded the opportunity to represent their school by competing in a push-up contest. It didn't take long before I was eating my own words....on day 2 we had somebody...read more

With the exception of my time in Orlando and Kansas City, most of my time in the Army has been spent with Combat Arms units where I was afforded the opportunity to travel to exotic places like the Combat Maneuvers Training Center (CMTC) in Hohenfels, Germany; the Grafenwoehr Live Fire Area (also in Germany); the National Training Center (NTC) located in the middle of the desert in Ft. Irwin, CA; the Joint Readiness Training Center (JRTC) in beautiful Ft. Polk, Louisiana, countless trips...read more

I am a member of the Adjutant General Corps (Human Resources), and have been for nearly 19 years. During this time I’ve been called a lot of things for working in a less than desirable job in the Army. That's right, I've heard it all from Desk Jockey to Pencil Pusher, but I believe my all-time favorite is Chairborne Ranger! I mean, I understand. There are no guts, glory, glitz or glamour in this career field and the only excitement AG...read more

  • The Beginning of My Journey

I was 17 years old when I enlisted in the Army and had no clue what I was getting myself into! I knew I lacked the grades and finances to attend college, but more importantly, I knew I did not possess the discipline or the maturity to take on such a feat. What I did know was that if I wanted to be successful in life, I had to leave my small town in California, and I had to do it quickly. My recruiter sold me on the Army almost immediately.....okay, okay, it...read more
