With the exception of my time in Orlando and Kansas City, most of my time in the Army has been spent with Combat Arms units where I was afforded the opportunity to travel to exotic places like the Combat Maneuvers Training Center (CMTC) in Hohenfels, Germany; the Grafenwoehr Live Fire Area (also in Germany); the National Training Center (NTC) located in the middle of the desert in Ft. Irwin, CA; the Joint Readiness Training Center (JRTC) in beautiful Ft. Polk, Louisiana, countless trips to local training areas (Area Jay, Area Mike), and who can forget 27-months in lovely Iraq.
Needless to say, when I was afforded the opportunity to serve as the Officer in Charge for 5th Recruiting Brigade's Spring Break Warrior Challenge in majestic South Padre Island, I jumped at the opportunity.  Our efforts this week will focus on promoting Army opportunities to those visiting our location at the Isla Grand Hotel.  The highlights of the event include a daily pushup/pull up contest, where the winner, for both male & female, is awarded a Kindle.  We will also be hosting Halo and NCAA March Madness tournaments on the XBOX 360.  Over the next several weeks I will provide frequent updates regarding our Spring Break Warrior Challenge.
