The Stars were Shining at the Stars and Stripes Dinner

I couldn't imagine being anywhere else Friday night except for maybe the Stars and Stripes Dinner in Washington, DC. This dinner was a star studded event to honor some distinguished individuals that represented all the branches of military services. The 25th Black Engineer of the Year Awards GALA

These past couple of days in Washington , DC have been the best days ever for me. The Black Engineer of the Year Awards Gala was an amazing , I was very honored to be apart of such a prestigious event. This past weekend I was part of a tribute to Black History Month at North Carolina A&T University in Greensboro, NC. The program was entitled Empower Me they had numerous workshops and seminars to help enlighten young people on life improving skills. The highlight for me was the Black History display that was setup, this do such a profound impact on me to see how much African Americans have evolved in the military over the course of time. For all you car lovers out there the Chicago Auto Show will be in full swing this weekend, so if your in the Chicago area come check it out. Well I'm back in Chicago this time for the Chicago Auto Show one of the biggest events hosted here every year. When I arrived here in Chicago I that I was apart of the Ice Age, in some parts of the city it is so much snow piled up on the sides of the street that you can barely see what's on the other side. This past weekend I had the opportunity to attend the NHL All Star Game. Friday night we was out on the street doing a meet and greet with the public. Even though it was alittle cold the number of people that came out was well over 9,000 we had a blast. I guess when it comes to hockey alittle cold never hurt anyone. Today Fort Jackson had the honor to welcome the First Lady Michelle Obama for a series of events. The First Lady is the guest speaker for the graduation of the 1st Battalion, 34th Infantry Regiment, what a honor I'm very proud to be apart of one of the best Basic Combat Training Battalions on Fort Jackson. So I finally made to San Antonio, TX for the All American Bowl, the weather here is a little cloudy but very nice. I'm so excited to be here and get things started. Wish me luck and I will keep everyone posted throughout the week with pictures and comments.
