AKO training available online for new users
June 3, 2010
Those of you who are who are in the process of becoming Soldiers may be interested in learning more about Army Knowledge Online. AKO is the Army portal, and it gives you access to a variety of services ranging from a secure e-mail account to areas to store your files, a secure instant messenger, and access to medical, training and personnel information, and much more.
To insure that you are up to speed with AKO by the time you reach your unit, we recommend that you take advantage of training materials we’ve made available to AKO account holders on the portal at our Training and Tutorials page (https://www.us.army.mil/suite/grouppage/17678):
- Introduction to the Portal
- Reset You AKO Password
- All About AKO Search
- CAC Registration and Account Management
- AKO Site Creation
- What Are AKO Channels?
- AKO Go Mobile
- What is Outlook Connector?
For access to these training modules, you can use your AKO username and password or your government-issued Common Access Card.
In the weeks to come, we hope to provide more AKO information and useful tips.
