Scholarship Benefits
October 25, 2010
My first post is on my scholarship benefits and what they mean to me. Boston College is a very expensive school and without the scholarship I would have no chance of attending. The ROTC scholarship pays my entire tuition and gives me a book allowance that covers around half of the cost of my books as well as a stipend. Additionally Boston College pays for all cadets meal plans. The only thing I have to pay is the rest of my books and my room. While I do have student loans to help me pay for the cost of my room, not building up massive debt each semester is liberating. Boston College was very stingy with their financial aid for my family so I would not be attending even on student loans. The stipend is also good to have at college. I try to save a good potion of it, but it is good to have money to go out into Boston every week and unwind after the stress of college and ROTC wears you down.
