New school, new start
August 22, 2011
One thing I've learned in my two years as a cadet is my potential and how much I really do love ROTC and how I do want to make a career out of the military. I have been in UNI's battalion for the past two years and I realized that maybe being so far from my parents wasn't a good choice. I'm going to become an officer in 2 years and I realized that it's time to make grown up decisions and realize what battalion would fit best for me. I am extremely excited to start at Western Kentucky University and realize my true potential as an officer in the army. One thing I recommend to all new cadets is to choose your friends wisely in college and to put good influences in your life. It's hard to really know what school will fit you when you are 18 years old, but you definitely don't want to be 20 when you finally figure it out! Haha. I think the ROTC program is fantastic and to be given the opportunity to transfer to another battalion really does show how much the army cares about its own. MSIII year is going to be tough and it's crazy to think that it's already here! It still feels like yesterday when I was an MSI. So again for all new cadets, enjoy your first couple years, learn all you can and take a hold of any opportunity that comes your way, because before you know it, you're already going to be a junior! School countdown- 7 days!
